City and Guilds 2382

17th Edition Wiring Regulations

Level 3 Certificate for Requirements for Electrical Installations: BS 7671

This is run as a 10 week evening course on Thursday evenings 6.00pm – 9.00pm, with a City and Guilds on-line examination on the eleventh week.

The course is aimed at Electricians, or persons in the electrical trade that want to up date their knowledge to the latest set of IEE Wiring Regulations.  It will also help other professional tradespersons who are aiming to become registered for ‘Part P’ of the Building Regulations.

The course covers use of BS 7671 and the IEE on-Site Guide in a practical way, to find information and use tables to solve realistic problems. This will include basic cable sizing, conduit and trunking sizing and sizing of bonding and earthing conductors.  It also explains the relationship between the Wiring Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations.

You will need a copy of BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations 17th Edition and the IEE On-Site Guide as these books are allowed to be used in an open book 2 hour multi-choice examination, also simple scientific calculator, pen, paper and perhaps yellow highlighter.

The course is a good basis to build on with any further electrical courses, especially the City and Guilds 2391 Inspection, testing and Certification course and the EAL Domestic Installer Scheme.
